This is a fan tumblog dedicated to Pearl Jam's lead guitarist Mike McCready.
I'll also be posting a lot of Pearl Jam stuff here as well.

We are excited to announce that Ten Club will be unveiling the new pearljam.com website in early June 2012.

It’s been a long road, but we’ve finally arrived thanks to the creative input from the band, a stellar team of site developers new and old, the band’s archivist and recording engineers, and Ten Club member feedback.

Your favorite Pearl Jam website features will remain, including:
- Forums
- Streaming Pearl Jam radio
- Members only merchandise

A bunch of new advanced features have been added, including:
- Enhanced discography
- Enhanced show archive, including memorabilia from the show
- Expanded live photo slide shows, including some never seen before
- Guest check-out in the store section of the site
- Simpler store design and navigation
- Select bootleg revival
- Informative and interactive activism pages

New members-only features have also been added, including:
- Easier to navigate site and member management settings
- Automatic membership renewals
- Member-to-member live chat

In order to prep the new site, pearljam.com will be taken offline from Sunday, June 3rd until the site launch scheduled within a week. Our team is working hard to make the transition as smooth as possible. However, with any new site launch there can be some unexpected growing pains. Your patience is appreciated in advance.

To expedite getting answers to your questions about the new site, we’ve set up a page called Answers to Frequently Asked Questions, which we will update continually. You can find that page at the following link: www.pearljam.com/faq
If you don’t see an answer to your question there, please email info@tenclub.net

As always, we want your feedback. Once the new site goes live in early June let us know what you think and what we can improve by filling out this feedback form https://pjguest.wufoo.com/forms/z7p9z7/

In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek behind-the-curtains to give you a feel for things to come…

Mad Season reunited @ the Showbox!

A few weeks ago Mike McCready mentioned he is interested in reviving Mad Season with drummer Barrett Martin.

Last night that revival became one step closer to reality at the Showbox when McCready and Martin, Mad Season’s two surviving members, performed “River of Deceit” with Loaded’s Jeff Rouse on vocals and Rick Friel on bass during a Flight To Mars benefit concert for the Chron’s & Colitis Foundation of America.

It was the first time McCready and Martin performed the Mad Season song together in more than 17 years.

Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready (left), on-hand to play tonight’s anthem, signs some pre-game autographs for Twins pitchers Jared Burton (right) and Matt Maloney (middle). “When I’m standing out here on the field, that happens and it still makes me go “Wow! These totally famous players want my autograph,” McCready told me afterwards. “It’s a thing that musicians want to be sports guys and sports guys want to be musicians.”

Mike McCready names his favorite songs to play live

“Off of ‘Ten,’ I also really like to play ‘Black.’ For me, the solo definitely gives me space,” he said. “I stay to the one main part, and then I try to expand on that every night we play it. If I’m not thinking about it—I’m just going, my eyes are closed, and I can see the guitar neck in my head—that’s when I’m playing it the best. I can’t force that to happen though. That just happens sometimes. If I start thinking about it too much, I’m not doing it as well.
